I like your game! My list of highlights:

  • Soundtrack is really cool!
  • SoundFX are equally great - especially the "voice-based" ones, recorded them yourself?
  • I love the themes space, dystopia and I am a huge fan of Octopodes - your combo comes very natural to me
  • I like the mechanic: You have to accept the danger to destroy the nasty shippies.

Pixel art is not my preferred style, but apart from that, you did really well with executing it.

Suggestions:

I missed the ink blobs completely in my first run (dark on dark). I thought the new octopodes are the "ink" and was trying to steer them into the ships.

One idea how to solve this: When players start flying around, and the first ink blobs are coming up, freeze the game and point with an arrow at one of them, saying something like "ink is destroying ships". Player sees it, can continue and that needs to be learned is learned :-)

What I don't like...

...is that others are much better with playing it - will try to get into the Top 10 later in the evening ;-)

Thanks for the input!

We're thinking about uploading a new version with your idea of showing the ink. If not it, at the very least highlighting it with white or something to make it more visible.

About the SFX, @Matheus is our guy for sound effects. He's really good at recording those stuff!

I don't speak English, so I'm using Google Translate to help me. Sorry if it sounds strange jaja

Don't need to apologize bro, me and @rurikido are not native english speaker either and I often use Google Translate to ensure everything I wrote is fine ๐Ÿ˜

The Visual  Presentation and Sounds are pretty good. I got the idea after 2-3 attempts. But for me it is a problem that the spaceships spawn in the visible player area. That makes it (almost) impossible to avoid there attack.  So even with a huge army of squidwards there can spawn a spaceship in front of you and rob all your valuable ink. But overall a fun experience! Just fix the thing with the spawn and it will make it a lot easier ๐Ÿ‘

Hey there!

It was supposed to work that way, but we did some last minute adjustments to the camera/overall gameplay and ended up like this.

We just pushed a update that fix the issue, thanks for sharing!
