Good story, but our eyes have not allowed us to overcome the second part.

Have you thought about using twine? The full-screen option is necessary for a text adventure.

Overall, I just wanted to see if I could make a text game in Python, and I decided to do this jam an hour before it started. Were I to make another game like this, I'd probably either use Twine or build something in Python. Thanks for playing!

I started playing this first thing in the morning after not getting enough sleep and almost gave up after a few screens... it literally hurt my eyes to read the text. However, something in the story kept drawing me in. I rather enjoyed the recursive stories. Thanks :)

I'm glad you liked it! I don't think I'll be running the text exclusively through the terminal again.
