I based my game off the New York City in the United States Hell Gate's Bridge legend. I made used the premises to create a plot of you riding your way to the afterlife as you experience the 5 stages of grief.

I don't think I've ever felt emotionally impacted by a game jam game before, so that's really incredible! You added a ton for such a short time, and it's really thematically consistent. Would've preferred a slightly less extreme punishment for failure, but other than that I really enjoyed it! Great job!
Thanks! It really means a lot! I was hoping to make it emotional in some way, and it's actually only my 2nd project making my own art so I'm glad it fits together nicely!
Everyone has mentioned the difficulty and while I want it to be difficult; making it too difficult seems to be the issue. I'm actually moving forward with updates to the project including a health system and after a game mode with checkpoints for a more fun experience. I'll be publishing them once the rating for this jam has ended :)
Nice! Can't wait to play the updated version!
Hey! Just wanted to let you know the new update for the game is out!
The biggest change in terms of difficulty is the health system.
I'm going to be adding in the checkpoint modifier into the game in the next update hopefully later next week :)
Super fun, the visuals of the game are definitely the best part for me, everything fits in so well with each other, providing a nicely immersive experience!
Good job :)
Thanks! It really means a lot!
The visuals are amazing, I enjoyed the atmosphere.
But, big but, I couldn't make it past second stage and having no checkpoint in between the stages made me frustrated and eventually I gave up. You might look into that and upload.
Overall pretty good gob, congrats!
Thanks! The game is supposed to be pretty difficult, originally was a rogue-like but I didn't get the car randomization in.
Hey! Just wanted to let you know there's a new update for the game if you want to try it again.
I added in a proper health system which will hopefully reduce the difficulty in a fun way.
I'm also adding run modifiers later on next week which will include checkpoints for a more fun and less punishing experience.
This super stylistic. I loved the atmosphere. It took a couple tries but I finally understood the concept :)
Having no checkpoint frustrated me a bit, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Checkpoints were something I thought about adding in but didn't due to it originally being a rogue-like; but that didn't get all the way implemented. I have plans to add a checkpoint system though!
Hey! I wanted to let you know that there's an update for the game that adds a proper health system. Which should make the game less punishing.
There's also plans to add run modifiers in the game which will include a checkpoint modifier in the next update later on next week.
