What is the Mid-Jam?
The Mid-Jam is a ranked game jam, that is held annually by Broken Mouse Studios, to celebrate the summer solstice!
What is topic voting?
Topic voting is a system where everyone can submit a topic/theme for the jam which will also be voted on publicly. All games must then include the most voted topic and/or the second most voted topic. The participants can interpret the topics however they like.
How will my entry be voted on?
Your entry will be voted on publicly by the following criteria:
- Topic - How much the game is related to the jam's topic
- Idea - How good or original the idea is
- Gameplay - How fun the gameplay is
- Presentation - How good the game's graphics and levels look and how good the sound fits (if there is any sound)
Rules
- These rules are active for the topic voting, community area and your game.
- Any kind of content which contains hate speech, racism or is Not Safe For Work, is disallowed.
- You can work solo or team up with others.
- You are allowed to create a video game or something physical like a board game.
- You can submit multiple entries.
- Your game must be created during the jam, but you are allowed to reuse your own code.
- All assets other than fonts and music must be your own work.
- You are free to use any game engines, libraries, programming languages etc...
- Your game can have any kind of art style (for example pixel art and programmer art).
- You are highly encouraged to provide a web and/or Linux version if possible!
- Your game must be submitted before the deadline. Late submissions will be rejected in most cases.
- Your game must be playable without the installation of third-party software.

Timeframe
- During 12th - 19th June 23:59 CEST you can submit your topic(s).
- During 20th - 23th June 23:59 CEST you can vote on the submitted topics.
- On the 24th June 00:00 CEST the topic voting results will be published and the jam begins.
- The jam will run from 24th June 00:00 CEST to 26th June 23:59 CEST.
- After the jam has finished, public voting on the submitted games will be possible until 3rd July 23:59 CEST.

- You will keep all the rights of your own game, Broken Mouse Studios claims no rights or ownership of your game.
- Broken Mouse Studios reserves the right to change the Mid-Jam's rules at any time.
