Welcome, Historians, Adventurers, Carers, and Beloved!

As more and more people begin walking the well-trod rambleroads of Ald-Amura, more stories have trickled through the gaps in tavern floorboards and community center rafters. For as vast as Ald-Amurans believed their home to be, no one could have guessed that it would be so suffused with adventure and wonder. Every inch of this beautiful place appears to positively heave with stories fit for the coziest homes, the grandest halls, and the quietest whispers. Won't you share one with us, adventurer?

Game Jam Time!

For the next month (and a bit), your goal is to create something inspired by Monster Care Squad, or the world in which it is set, Ald-Amura. It could be a game, it could be a piece of writing, it could be a drawing, a thread, an interesting hat, or anything, really. No rules. Actually, hold on. some rules

Some Rules!

  • Entry is open to all
  • You can finish an unfinished project for the jam if you like
  • You can  sell your entry if you want
  • You can submit multiple entries if you like
  • Teams are allowed
  • Entries do not need to use the MCS system, nor the Ald-Amura setting
  • In the end, nobody wins, unless everybody wins.

What Is A Game Jam?

Hello new historian! A game jam is a casual and low-judgement creative space designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, and fun over things like polish, perfection, profitability, etc. Traditionally the purview of video games, board games and TTRPGs have muscled their way into the game jam space in the last decade or so.

Typically a Game Jam involves one or more people attempting to complete a full project in the allotted time, and sharing that with others shooting to do the same thing. The restrictive nature of the deadline, as well as the assumed lack of resources on the side of the entrants is supposed to create a certain atmosphere of artistic purity but i dunno about that. We just think making stuff rules. The name itself, Game Jam, draws from the idea of a jam session in music, where you and some pals just kinda go sicko mode on some bongos. You can read up some more about Game Jams over at Wikipedia

Resources

Everyone here at Sandy Pug Games loves to see people making stuff out of the refuse we dump in your mailboxes and itch libraries, and to that end we've put together a pretty significant package of support resources for making Monster Care Squad Stuff.
