Welcome to the Local Multiplayer / Couch Co-Op Jam!

Theme:

Kid’s game, 2 to 4 players, playable on one (1) screen and one (1) keyboard at a time. Must be a Computer Game.

In this Game Jam, you have about 2 months to create a multiplayer game! The only real limits are that it must be a kids' game, support 2 to 4 players, and be playable on one screen with one keyboard at a time. Other than that, the choice is entirely up to you! Unfortunately, the Game must be made for a Computer and cannot be for the console.

You have the freedom to use any engine or framework you prefer. You can also work in teams, as long as it doesn’t impact the quality of your game.

Don’t worry if you can’t participate right now—there will be future game jams with similar themes!

Now, for what everyone is excited about, Prizes!

While the prizes are yet to be determined, there will be cash awards and an opportunity to advance to the next stage of the competition, which will offer even more prizes!

There will be multiple prizes offered, each of which will be worth more than $1000+ for the top 5 (Judged). First Place will be about $2,500.

Rubric:

Creativity and artisanship: The game should be highly creative and well-crafted. (1- 10 Points)

Technical skill: The game is original, highly artistic, and shows evidence of programming skills. (1-10 Points)

Storyline/flow of the game: The game is well-organized and flows smoothly from one scene/level to the next.  (1-10 Points)

Overall appeal: The game is innovative and entertaining; design principles are incorporated, which make playing the game easy and enjoyable. (1-10 Points)

Bonus Points Unique and exceptional features:  The game is outstanding and unique. (1-15 Points)

Rules:

Must Follow the Theme of Kid’s game, 2 to 4 players, playable on one (1) screen and one (1) keyboard at a time. Must be a Computer Game.

Judges must be able to play the game to the third (3rd) level (It is fine if you do not have a level system, but if you do, make sure your first three levels are the best you can make them).

The game submitted for evaluation must be greater than three (3) minutes in length of play and must be interactive.

More Information on Judging and Prizes will be released soon!

Note: You will retain ownership rights to your games. However, during the advanced competition period, you may need to temporarily take down your game page, as our judging process for the advanced competition differs. More information will be provided as we approach the dates for the advanced competition.

Note on Judging: If the games do not meet standards, then they will not be considered for Cash Prizes
