Great stories emerge from shared experiences, myths held by entire communities, and legends that grow a little more each time they are told—until your dad cutting down a tree is transformed into the epic "God spirit of all trees!"
As we collect stories for TTRPGs (Tabletop Role-Playing Games) and storytelling games, we have the opportunity to explore the rich narratives left by our ancestors, filled with fantastic tales, formidable monsters, and intriguing superstitions.
For the next two months, let’s come together to create and share new stories. Let’s invent legends and remix old myths.
Delve into history, or step outside and listen to the sounds around you. Observe the movements at the edge of your vision, and recall the "wisdom" imparted to you as you grew. Let’s tell those stories with new characters, fresh tension, genuine danger, and definitely new heroes—or in some legends, new losers and learners.
You can submit anything from a few sentences to a fully illustrated picture book, but please focus on the story: the journey you will take us, the readers, on, and the moral or explanation behind it.
This will be part one of a hopeful two-part jam. The second part will involve turning some of these stories into quest lines, locations, or further art for TTRPGs and similar projects.
Additionally, while submissions won’t be ranked, it would be wonderful if, at the end of the jam, we could all provide feedback by rating and reviewing five submissions each. This will help us give each other constructive feedback.
Here are some examples if you need inspiration.

Anyone wants to add some examples just yell. Creation stories, explanations of why that rock is as so. What is that noise we here.
Mystery, creativity. Fun.
UPDATE: So we might aim to start around the holiday period just in case our relatives have some good stories to work off. But we will still finish in March.
