Here are a couple of sample game ideas to get you started if you're stuck :)

• The player is handed a sword and tries to break out of a computer system.

• The player is trying to destroy the solar system and gets extra fuel for their spaceship when they are low on health (this is not the end.)

Welcome to N8Jam!

 We are two Game Dev Youtubers coming together to give you the ultimate game jamming experience this summer! We love to create different gaming experiences and talk about them, so now it's your turn to show everyone what you've got.

Timeline

This is a one-week long game jam spanning from August 7th to August 14th. Please note the timestamps above -this is when the jam will start at your local time.  After the jam period, there will be a one-week voting period.

Eligibility & Rules

This game jam is open to everyone of all ages and all team sizes. Use this opportunity to meet new people, collaborate with friends on a cool project, or work on that solo project you've been daydreaming about! 

Theme & Lore

All participants will be provided a theme, and piece of lore to base their games on. The theme will be announced right before the game jam begins. The additional lore extended from the theme will be quite vague and open-ended. You can use this prompt in any way you please and it is optional but it can result in a higher rating in this category. This is just to encourage additional creativity in your submission and to give this jam some extra flavor.  

Voting Criteria

Voting criteria are a good reminder of what to focus on for your submission. Voting is open to the public. Here are the categories that all participants will be able to vote and be ranked on:

• Fun: How much did you enjoy playing the game?
• Innovation/Design: Was there something unique about the game? Was the game fair and interesting to play through?
• Aesthetic: How good the game looks visually. Simplicity and charm count! 
• Audio: How good were the music and sound effects? Was it complementary to the game?
• Theme/Lore Reference: How well was the game based on the theme? What kind of twist did they give the lore?
