About the jam
The Neighbourhood Jam is an annual charitable game jam run by Erin Harrison and Marina Díez.
This year, we are fundraising for Turn2Us’s Covid-19 Grant Fund, created to help those in urgent need due to the pandemic.
Raised Goal
£1286 £3000
Our goals!
We are aiming to raise over £3000.
Turn2Us are helping people in desperate need with relief grants of £500 each; so far, they have been able to support over 2000 UK households.
GamesAid is a charity that helps other small-medium size charities involved and not involved with the games industry.
While we are unable to be together physically, we hope that our fundraiser can mobilise kindness, and create an online community of people, making games for a difference to help families and individuals across the UK.
Donations
We have £0, £2, £5, £10 and £20 donation options available. On a trust basis, participants are encouraged to donate if submitting to the jam - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-neighbourhood-jam-tickets-108966991204.
All donations will go to our two chosen charities: Turn2Us, who are fighting poverty in the UK, and our partner GamesAid, who support charitable activity in the games industry.
Jam theme
‘Stay home, save lives’ is the government’s slogan for flattening the curve in the UK. Inspired by this, we ask jam participants to make accessible wholesome games that people of all ages can easily enjoy at home!
Ideas for jam games could be topical themes like, self care and mindfulness in self isolation, or reflecting on what your time in quarantine has been like.
Other ideas include, games that bring people together, like writing interactive bedtime stories to read with a loved one, or educational games for kids unable to go school!
When
The game jam will run for two weeks; 22nd June - 6th July.
Who
Anyone and everyone is encouraged to participate! In game jams, all roles are useful!
What can you make?
Any downloadable game under the theme; we are also admitting board games submitted in pdf format.
