Welcome to the first annual NES jam!
This is an annual game jam for the retro gaming community. It's main idea is as follows:
Following the limitations of the NES, what can be made?
- All submissions must run at the resolution 256 × 240 and at 60 FPS.
- You have to stick to the NES color palette.
- There can only be 4 different palettes on screen, each having 4 colors. (1 Color may be fully transparent)
- Everything is split into 8×8 chunks, this includes moving and static objects.
- Each 8×8 'chunk' can only have 1 palette's colors. Similarly, chunks can be flipped/rotated at 90° intervals.
- You can only have 256 different chunk sprites.
- You can only use the D-pad, A, B, select, and start as input for your game.
- All sound and music must be chiptune.
