  • Great job on your first game! Loved the idea of the game and the setting was super cute. The mechanics were pretty basic, but for such a short jam, there's definitely no issue with that! Things to consider: - Your map is WAY too big. Don't be afraid to make the map smaller, especially if the character is moving slow. Big maps are great if there is actually content to fill them, so with a game that's just narrative focused, it's best to have a smaller world. - Working with assets packs is perfectly fine, but they do tend to limit what you can do content wise. I would look into environmental storytelling and what you can accomplish with that. Maybe some posters around town advertising a party, or some letters that have fallen out of someone's bag. Using simple UI images is a great way to add content to a game without additional coding / animating. - If your game focuses heavily on narrative, try to include some sort of through line with your conversations. You had a few conversations with characters just saying things like "fgfdj;kgjdf" which is fine, but also isn't very interesting for the player to read. Overall, great job on your first game AND first jam!
