What was the inspiration for your project?
The inspiration behind this game was born from the unconditional love between a human and their dog, a connection so deep it transcends words. Bobby, like many dogs, is not only a faithful companion; he is a mirror of our emotions, a guardian of our most vulnerable and happy moments. In a world where mental health is often overlooked, what better way to explore this topic than through the eyes of someone who understands us without speaking: our dog? The concept of Gaussian Splat symbolizes how our minds collect and weave memories, and Bobby’s journey reflects the internal struggle many face: traversing emotional labyrinths, defeating the monsters of anxiety, sadness or stress, and finding meaning amidst the chaos. This game not only seeks to entertain, but to touch hearts. It is an invitation to understand that we all have a Bobby in our lives: that light that guides us when our mind becomes a labyrinth. Through Bobby, I want to remind every player that even in the darkest of times, there is always someone, or something, willing to help us find our way back to ourselves.
