My name is Katie and I'm a fellow in Clinical Simulation, doing a talk at the East Coast Game Conference in a few weeks to discuss effective communication between game developers and subject matter experts. I'd love to give some examples of games that were built without any experts at all! These will be fun examples that I can showcase (and showcase your talent despite subject matter expert content knowledge!). So, I'm calling on you to create an educational game of your choice without any experts (something you are not already an expert in). Bonus points if it is a clinical simulation! Health professional subject matter experts are the focus of my talk at ECGC. Make it so bad that it's good! I'd love to start my talk with some humor.
A few topics if you need ideas: ESI Triage Levels, Patient-Provider Communication, Anatomy, Patient Assessment, Medical Procedures, Terminology, or whatever subject you are not familiar with but you've been tasked to make anyway!
To make it educational, you can simply provide a goal and provide feedback on the player's decisions when playing your game. It doesn't have to have an intricate curriculum.
Of course, this is all in good fun. (Go ahead and put a disclaimer on the game that it isn't for actual training!) I'm looking forward to showing off this community's work!
I'm so excited to see what you come up with!!
