SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
A: a trollgame is a game that sets up and subverts expectations. The best trollgames are ones where the player can follow the logic of the game, but that doesn't stop them from walking into the game's traps.
A: if you make a game about a troll,
If you make a trollgame about a troll,
A: Judging is open to all who submit a game. Judging will begin after the game submissions close and run for 168 hours (1 week). On November 8 the winners will be announced.
A: I guess it's time to start talking about the PRIZE PACKAGE
A: YES there will be a first place prize of:
and also $100 for the highest rated game and a spoon prize of $5 for last place* and ALSO $50 FOR THE SECOND PLACE GAME TOTAL PRIZE POOL OF $GOOS+155. MeanGirlsGames will reach out to the winner/loser. As MeanGirlsGames will be participating in the jam, they will not be giving themselves any prizes, so whoever is below/above them will get a prize if a MeanGirls game wins/loses. The bonus points for being a card game will not factor into who gets a prize, only who gets points in the hearts of Mean Girls. (a game containing a Little Lad Dance reference will receive exactly one bonus point)
A: I am an oil baron. Also it is double the trouble of last year, it is double the sequel, so it only makes sense it would be dOUBLE THE PRIZES okK
A: it is REAL DOLARS of UNITED MONEYS also HOW IS THE GOOSE SELFIE NOT THE IMPORTANT PART OF THIS PRIZE FOR YOU
A: We gave $5 to all last place finishers last year. If there' s a tie for first or second place (or both) this year, the $150 prize pool will be split into shares with everyone in first place getting 2 shares and everyone in second place getting 1.
A: Everyone tied for first place will get a goose poster until I run out of posters. As to choice of which goose is depicted, it may be first come first served I only have so many posters of these geese.
* The recipient of the Spoon Prize will be "the most spectacular failure to be a trollgame despite obvious effort". Effortfulness to be determined by judges.
