PSRAT is a lovely little RPG wherein one player play the role of a Family, and other(s) play Cooks who travel back through the Family's history to piece together an heirloom recipe.
The main engine of the game is the Move triggered in the transition between scenes, when Cooks travel through time. This builds a stacking negative modifier called paradox, and the lowest rolls give the Family more narrative power to create interesting complications!
However, the paradox also functions as a shared resource pool for Cooks to draw from, as long as they can narratively describe how their mucking about in the timeline can be a helpful thing, too!
I haven't gotten to actually play this yet for myself, but I'm planning on bringing it to an upcoming family gathering -- and just the thought makes me smile!
Wanted to play an RPG but inadvertently starting making soup and now there's soup everywhere thanks a lot
