Welcome to the second Paper Mario Modding Jam, hosted by Star Haven.

This is a competition to make the best mod of any Paper Mario series game you can in 8 9 weeks. The mod does not need to be big: focus on quality over quantity. You could add a custom enemy, an awesome boss, a few new maps, or even an epic twist on standard gameplay. Anyone can participate, and it's fine to work in groups! If you're looking for inspiration, check out the previous jam's entries.

Entries will be judged by the community on the following equally-weighted criteria: Fun, Aesthetics, Innovation, and Theme adherence. All entries must be kept family-friendly.

The theme is: Cosmic.

🥇 1st place: $100 USD
🥈 2nd place: $80 USD
🥉 3rd place: $70 USD
🥉 4th place: $50 USD
🏆 All other entries: 1 Steam key (such as Bug Fables, Celeste, Yakuza 0)

Rules

• You're allowed to use any code or assets written before the jam start date if you want.
• You may work in teams of any size.
  
• You must release the source code of your entry. For Star Rod mods, make sure to remove any originally-dumped assets and only share patch files.

I've never modded this game before. How do I get started?

We're a friendly community! Join our Discord and introduce yourself in the #jam channel. Below are some tutorial videos. For inspiration, look at the entries from last year and Paper Mario: The Cylinder of Wood.
