WHAT'S THIS?

Layout in TTRPG is something we all do, but rarely do we get a chance to see how else it could have been. In an attempt to spread inspiration and wisdom I invite you to layout a pre-written adventure – written by none-other than Rugose Kohn – which can be found here:

Rugose purposely didn't connect the rooms, so you can map this out anyway you like!

It's an awesome Mörk Borg-adventure, but feel free to convert it to any system you like. As long as you credit Rugose Kohn as the original writer and Walton Wood as the editor (Walt needs to be addressed as in written in the original Google Docs).  

I hope we can have a lot of fun creating, designing and layouting. And that I, by the end of it, can create a couple of guiding videos pointing out awesome tricks in some submissions and ways to improve for others. 

THE RULES

The rules are simple:

– You can only use images, graphics and fonts which you have the right to use. Other than that everything goes. (I'll be posting links for sources in the community and on my Discord.)

– You can change the text in subtle ways in order for it to fit your layout. Add headers and subheaders and in general "work" with the text. But it should be easily recognised as the original text for ease of comparison and learning.

– Remember to credit Rugose Kohn as the original writer and Walton Wood as the editor (you have to use the precise wording found in the Google Docs). Perhaps even go to their Itch-pages to buy some stuff from them?'

– Use any necessary 3rd party license for the system you choose to layout for. If it's Mörk Borg you can find it here: https://morkborg.com/license/

– By entering you agree that I can use your piece in a feedback video where I will try to look for things done well and things to improve. (If you would rather not, feel free to provide a line on your submission site, for me to know to not cover your submission.)

– By entering you agree to provide feedback and praise for a couple of the other entries. We should all help each other grow where we can – this is ofcourse not a requirement and I understand if you’re not comfortable giving or receiving feedback. That’s totally okay!

WHAT CAN I WIN?

I will pick one contributor by random and one which I find "the best" and they will both receive a physical copy of Trapped Within in physical form.  And (if they are on my Discord) the rank of winner.

I want to put my contribution into print, am I allowed to do that? 

You're allowed to upload your contribution to itch as a PWYW without paying anyone. But as soon as you enter into print you are entering a place where writers and editors would also normally get a piece of the pie. Thus you'll need to contact Rugose Kohn and haggle out a fee (or arrangement) for his and Walts work. This is a cost you would normally have to cover, if you had commissioned someone to do the writing for you, so it's not really an extra cost. If you think this is unfair then I'll urge you to write your own adventure and re-use the layout.
