TLDR; An absolutely lovely, and fittingly dark, game! I played one solo session over the course of about an hour, as I wished to keep a collection of journal enteries since I was going at this adventure alone. The rules were quick to pick up and the system adaptable enough to add emotional weight behind every sacrifice and scrap gained. Despite my abysmal rolls making me sick every day I could be the moment I reached 60 hunger, and having to survive 21 more days to endgame, my luck not only got me through, but told a story of a person trying to find a friend in dark times; even if said friend was entirely unsentient and alien to them. From the first slab of meat received in exchange of a fictional torn out nail, to the last being in response to a sentimenal love letter (that I actually wrote out!) on the very last in-game day, which saved my character just enough to get to the end with 1 point remaining, these mechanics have the potential to not only describe horror or humor, but also heartfelt stories as well - as one comment on the game page states, it really does have the potential to act as a backbone to a more in depth rule system! All in all, "in the pitch we are preserved" was amazing to play, and I look forward to playing any more projects you work on in the future!
