I like the concept of making the character be a weapon in search of a new wielder (good use of the theme). Although this is a short demo, I think there's a lot of room to develop this into a full game. The rat enemies in this first level feel like reasonable enemies for a tutorial level, although I didn't seem to take any damage when they ran into me.

Two suggestions for improvement:

I think it'd be helpful if you allow the text to remain on the screen until the player interacts with the game at the very beginning. The text/backstory disappeared before I was finished reading, so I would have needed to restart the game to go back and read it.

I also think having more on-screen guidance for the game controls would be helpful at the start. It took me awhile to realize that I needed to double tap space to damage/kill the rats. For awhile, I was just bouncing on them without doing any damage.

Overall, a really fun game concept. I'd love to see more levels with final bosses. I'm also interested in whether or not you'll give players choice over "who" eventually wields the sword in the end. It would be cool to have multiple options for the player to pursue.
