IT'S SPREADING!
A disaster happened! An oil tanker of OIL Inc. crashed and is now leaking.
The resulting oil spil is spreading throughout the ocean and is
endangering you, your habitat and all your oceanic friends. Flee the catastrophy and save as many of your friends as possible.

Controls:
Mouse: move up and down
Left Mouse Button / Space: boost forwards/towards mouse position
Escape: Exit game

Goal:
Your goal is to survive as long as possible and collect and escort as many fish as possible to safety. Try to get the highest score possible!

Hazards:
Oil: Falling oil drops will damage you.
Sharks: Aggressive sharks will damage you. Each shark can eat up to 3 fish on contact. An indicator will warn you about approaching sharks.

Health:
You start with 3 HP, each time you come in contact with hazards you will lose one. Getting hit will grant you a short window of invincibility.
In regular intervals a heart-fish will spawn. Collecting it will heal you by 1 HP.


Scoring:
- travelled distance units = 1
- survived collected fish = 50
- survived collected golden fish = 250

Extra Notes
Solo dev without prior experience in pixel art. Learned a lot on the side. Was incredibly fun to make.

This project is made up of a mixture of handcrafted, custom made assets and external assets. UI and main menu were completely custom made by myself. The rest of the graphic assets is about 50/50 custom made/external assets. Sound and music consists almost exclusively (except for minor sound effects) of external assets.

The project was created using Gamemaker Studio 2 and Aseprite.
