- This is really good for a first game! The gameplay is fun, however the movement is a bit counter-intuitive when you can only hold W to move in the direction of the mouse pointer, rather than full WASD-controls. This doesn't leave you with a lot of clever mechanics to effectively battle the enemies. The game also crashed in my first playthough when moving my character off-screen which is a detriment to playability. I see the theme reflected in the story of your game. I would have liked to see the story play into the game a bit heavier than this so that the theme isn't as "implied" as it is currently. There are no sound effects in the game, which makes it feel a little empty. Due to this it lacks the oomf you're looking for when blowing up a huge enemy. If you don't have anyone to generate sounds for you, I'd recommend a *super neat* program called "sfxr" that can generate 8 bit sound effects for you for free. Don't be discouraged by this, for your first game ever this is really good. Keep kicking ass!

Tell us about your game!
"Eventuality" is a Roguelite space shooter set in a Universe where Humankind has spread across the stars, consuming planets in their wake by draining them of precious resources.
You play as an unknown Alien Insect, who has emerged from a dangerous Nebula, set on the complete annihilation, or...conversion, of all of Humankind. Your species is a Hivemind that has been driven to hiding - or extinction - at the hands of Humankind and it's time to counter-spread your song and children far and wide using the Humans as hosts.
Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes
Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes
Extra Notes
This is not only my first ever Game and Game Jam, but the first time I've ever done actual real programming before. Thank you, Thor, for providing people like me the motivation and platform to chase their dreams and just get out there and make something. It may not be the best game, or the most impressive - but it's mine and I'm very proud of having a submission for my first ever attempt at programming.
I hope the Judges enjoy <3
This may have been the first step, but it's certainly not the last.
