- Controller did not work completely. I was unable to use the potions, but everything else worked. I was using a PS4 controller (as I didn't have an xbox one). The only button that didn't work was the attack. Otherwise I can see this game being pretty cool. The art, environment, level design, etc were all great. Just wish it worked with my controller.
- GDD The presentation is unique. The elevator pitch need to make it shorter and more memorable to take the attention - not a short summary of the story. A good example is horizon zero dawn elevator pitch, which was "Teenage girl fights robot dinos" and that was enough for the pitch. Then ya can flesh out the genre, age rating, the audience etc from that pitch. Perhaps included some image examples of game experience. How is it easy controls, what AB test did ya use for controls, how are potions easier to see and etc. Game experience is not same as game estimatation. Why is the pillars in darkness? Show image of them and little summary / lore of them. Why are they important enough to have a slide about them? Theme is good. Perhaps included references / inspirations from other games / movies. Controls slide is good, but think remapping for disability too. What if someone used nintendo controller, ps5 controller or a custom third party controller? How would that works with the control scheme and icons? Why do dark potion does nothing? Can the player use it in a light puzzle? Conclusion is missing, but otherwise good presentation. Game The menu seems good, however the credit seems a little confused. Instead of called it art/music/SFX, renamed it as licenses if ya have used their art / music and sfx for commercial purposes. That way, people understood that ya went solo on this than having 16 people working on ya jam while the rule said ya can only have max 5 on the entry jam. Good with loading scene. Good to included coyote time. The jump feels too heavy and not responsive. Otherwise good game, would love to see more of this
