  • This is a really interesting take on autobattlers, neatly combining the theme components. However, I thought that how you interpreted shadows could have been a little more intricate - the shadow monsters could have had traits and upgrades that specifically align with characteristics of shadows or light, rather than simply "generic" monster traits.
  • This made me feel like I was playing chess, but with one piece and just upgrading it in a sense. I found the artistic approach to be quite interesting; the environment was a tad creepy, with its darker feel. The sound effects and music presented was done quite well, too. When it came to the playability, it was simple to follow, and seeing how the items you used to create and upgrade your shadow creature was also interesting to me. While this is the case, thinking now to the themes and their implementation, I did find it a bit unique seeing this 'style' of play where alchemy was more of the forefront of the two--with my interpretation being mostly 'transformation' and 'combination'. For shadow, I was thinking on how I would see it implemented outside of the shadow creatures, but that's all I could honestly see here. And while that may not be as creative to me on paper, I do feel it was showcased was intriguing to see how it would play out. Luckily, I got a win on my first try! So, overall, while I may have feelings that this could be expanded upon, and seeing some chess but also inscrpytion in the feel of the game, so maybe having a bit of a story behind this kind of combat/playstyle would be nice to see. Do keep up the good work.

The game is heavily inspired by pokemon and inscryption. We wanted to make the game an auto-chess battler with an upgrading system with a bit of RNG.
How to play:

Player gains 10 items in the beginning. May add 5 items to spawn your shadowy creature. Once the spawning phase is complete, the player may only add 1 item per turn to further upgrade their creature.

Contorls:

Right mouse click - Add/Remove item on summoning stone
Use the buttons to go to the next phase.

Pretty tricky! I can't seem to make a good shadow creature hahaha

It took me a minute to realise right click was the select button. Keep it up though!
