Judge feedback

  • The game was very involved for a game jam. It should be a bitesized game in order to give the judges the ability to fairly judge each game. Therefore, I wasn't able to play a whole lot of this game. I could see the theme that you were trying to go for, and that was nicely done. I liked that you were able to talk to NPCs, interact with objects without hassle, etc. I think if the game was dialed back and the positive-feedback-loop (Do X thing. X is done. Here is your reward.) was introduced much earlier on, I believe you could have a compelling game that draws people in.

The non textured style is actually very pleasant (I think it's intentional) and done very well. It has a nice contrast to the coloured objects that you are meant to interact with, and allows for minimal UI while still making it obvious what the user has to click on.

I did not get that far into the story, but the notes littered around the map were a cool addition that was interesting to read and again a very non-intrusive way to guide the user through the experience.

Great game overall, awesome work!
