  • this looks like what could be a fun game, but the boar was flying all over the place and it just suddenly spawned beside me and killed me. I would also add a health bar or something over the enemy to know how many hits there are left.

This was the original story, below. The goal was to make it a puzzle platformer, but shit went sideways for half the team, and a thunderstorm cycled the power on my desktop and caused several of my files to get corrupted, so I recoded as much of it as possible in the last 2 days.

Eskil (MC) left on the door steps of a castle. There’s a village called Tecra, just down the hill from the castle, which seems…familiar and yet so distant. Much like the castle, they enter inside and find themselves immediately drawn to the vast library of which there are books from the floor to the ceiling, some of them rearranging themselves magically on a whim. Eskil’s purpose remains a mystery to them. Their past life has left puzzles and messages to help remind Eskil of who they are and what they are meant to be doing. As time goes on, Eskil realizes there is something or someone attempting to stop him just as before. Aloka - The Keeper of Shadows attempts to stop Eskil from saving Tecra from their plans to enshroud the village in darkness, and to destroy what Eskil seems to hold most dear. Along the way there will be potion making, platform puzzles, and a past to unravel, friends to make and lose. When finally coming face to face with Aloka it would see the mystery has merely begun.

Very cozy little game here. The art style is very well done and is very consistent through out. The rune system for both the tutorial and checkpoint system is very cool and a unique way to introduce the player to the mechanics of the game.

I am not sure what the intention behind the states of characters being visible is, but it was pretty interesting to look at to be honest. Movement was very fluid and the combat was simple but interesting.

Overall, great job guys!

I did the character art for the game and it was really fun to try out a new style for me! I didn't do much of the background (some of the trees and cogs are mine though). I really had fun learning to animate smoke and magic.
