  • Husk was an intriguing, top down dungeon crawler, which felt a bit like it belonged in the horror genre. The art, enemy movement, and lighting all served to make this a very cohesive thematic experience. I found the battle system to be very easy to grab onto and believe casual gamers might enjoy this title. In the present build, music and sound effects were either nonfunctional or partially functional throughout play. I found the movement slightly weird, and didn't understand why I was punching holes in thee ground underneath myself. Thank you very much for this submission to Pirate Software Game Jam 16.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
WASD top down pixel game where as the parasite taking over a suit of armor, you go through enemies by selecting the right weapon strike to take them down, and get to the end. However, combat never got fully nailed down so the parasite is for the meantime, functionally immortal.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The idea of HUSK would be attributed to the eventual building of gameplay. At a certain point through the levels, the player would eventually be able to get stronger hosts, and face more difficult enemies.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
We tried our best, but we're all college students with jobs. One of us went through another three day game jam right before the submission window for this, so this was an effort! Credits to the asset creators are in the description. I really learned a lot from this game jam. Thank you for hosting it!

The game does need some work, but i think its a very cool idea. I found a glich, when your in combat you can still move the player. Good work and I hope to see more to this game. :D

ps: Your GDD is not public
