  • Hello Pirate Jammer, Thank you for the submission. Starting with my experience playing the game. The screen was pretty harsh to look at and it’s unfortunate that there was some bug from the desktop version to the web version in this regard. When I got into the game I liked the view port and the UI elements around it. I liked the aesthetic all around and the intro was pretty cool. The audio was interesting if a little repetitive, that might have been the point though. Functionally, as you stated it needs work, I've seen a “game of life” sim before and the sim speed seems pretty high for how fast they die, I never got a big wave going. I look forward to seeing how you iterate on the idea. It would be cool to have more visual and sound effects going on in the game. Finally, the GDD you made ticked all my boxes and you executed well on what you set out to do with the time you had. Thanks again

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
YES

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yes

Summarise your game!
in its current state, you can generate a world based on a seed or not. you can start with conways game of life as your starting Turmite, you can place cells in the world and watch it simulate.

thats basically it so far, but you can see my vision in the doc. i fully intend to continue on with this project.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
i interpret YOU ARE THE WEAPON, in this context, to be anything that causes some level of impact directly due to an action that you take. In this case, the action is the character creating an automaton and actively upgrading it and giving it commands.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
nothing in particular, most of the things that can be judged right now i either didnt have time to fix, add, or are caused by exporting to web. turns out godot shaders and intro splash screens REALLY dont like to export for web
