- The game has a fantastic art style that immediately reminded me of Hero Siege, making for a stunning visually experience. The core mechanic of having to hit monsters in a specific order using four weapons was a really creative twist. It felt like a mix between a classic hack-and-slash and word-based combat games where you need to type in certain words quickly to deal damage. One issue I noticed was that mobs spawn relatively close to the hero, which made it feel a bit overwhelming at times. A minimap to show enemy positions would have been great. Additionally, it felt unfair that enemies could completely ignore terrain—walking straight across lava pits—while I, as a floating weapon, had to sadly float around them. The GDD is exceptionally well-documented, making it easy to follow the game's development. Overall, this was a fantastic game, and I’d love to see more levels and enemies added. An upgrade system or even automated defenses could be interesting additions, especially if higher difficulty modes are planned. Keep up the great work!

Summarise your game!
Hero’s Warden is a 2D hack-and-slash action game where you play as the Warden, a sentient weapon bound to protect and guide the hero through a treacherous dungeon filled with horrors. Instead of controlling the hero directly, you become the weapon, seamlessly shifting between a sword, axe, bow, and wand to adapt to each battle. Master precise attack sequences, strategize your transformations, and ensure the hero’s survival. You are not the hero. You are the force that shapes their fate. You are the weapon.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
We found the fantasy setting very fitting to our idea of becoming the weapon. In trying to get a new perspective of the hero's journey we thought that being a sentient weapon whose sole purpose is to protect the real hero of the story a very compelling hook. Hope you enjoy being a faithful warden.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
We would like to encourage the judges to play aggressively and approach the enemy instead of a passive role. The game is more enjoyable that way. And above all, have fun :)
