Ve says that this collection is "A series of platonic love letters written in response to a hard friendship-breakup, written to be cathartic and therapeutic and originally intended to be private. However, now that some time has passed, they've done all that I needed them to. The poetry jam is the perfect place to let them go." The whole document is text laid over a variety of scanned or manipulated paper textures, notepads, stationary, and all forms of visual delights. Part of their release to the public is in hopes that if a reader ever needs to have a friend breakup, that these letters can help them through that situation. It's important for us to see that it's not just romantic and/or sexual relationships that need to be treated seriously and with care. They really tell a story. That first person narrative that tells you a lot about the speaker, and makes you wonder about the characters described. How do you know that what image you've been given of a subject is true or accurate? You have to trust in what you're told.

It's a really mature and interesting self-reflection I wish people did more of, and I'm so glad all these unsent letters found their way into the Poetry Jam.

As someone also dealing with the aftermath of a friendship breakup (that was also a romance breakup)... this hits really hard. This is so, so well written and I love it a lot. I hope you keep writing and healing!!
