Welcome to the second edition of the POSTAL Jam, where you can challenge yourself to make your very own POSTAL game. This years' event has a few changes based on community feedback, allowing for more freedom while rewarding those who go the extra mile.

For this event, we have a theme - the RWS Protestors from POSTAL 2!

Since we wanted to allow more freedom for your creations, we allow you to not follow the theme if you want. However, the judges will reward a predetermined amount of extra points to those who do include the protestors theme as a predominant element in their projects. We have a point system in place that will reward those who go with the theme but will still allow exceedingly good projects to win even if they don't go with it.

We hope you have fun on the greatest POSTAL event of the summer!

These are the dates of event:
June 5th - August 5th: Create and submit POSTAL related games
August 5th - August 15th: Voting process by the judges
Undisclosed date: First podcast after voting process will host the showcase of the winners

You can have a team of any size to help you. All games are required to be presented on itch.io with a trailer of at least 00:30s up to 01:30m in duration. Comments need to be enabled and NSFW content is not permitted.

Voting and moderation is done by a few handpicked, trustworthy people. This voting process with take place right after submissions are closed and will have a duration of 10 days.

After the 15th of August, we have an undisclosed day for a podcast episode where we do a presentation of the top 5 participants (maybe we might do some honorable mentions). This presentation will take place on the second half of the podcast. During this time, we will be making the vote results public for the event, so do not forget to tune in and check our podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@I_Regret_Nothing_Podcast/streams

This is the second attempt at a POSTAL Jam. If we have enough participants, we will certainly continue hosting more of these events in the future and improve them based on your feedback.

Please make sure you follow the following guidelines:

  1. Projects shouldn't be mods of existing games, they should be made entirely from scratch.

  2. Any assets that you use must either be custom or legally obtained (if not created by you, those need to be properly credited in-game).

  3. Participants need to specify what tools and software they are using in their projects.

  4. There's no limit of participants in a team, you can have as many people as you want, provided everyone is properly credited.

  5. VAs or music must be credited whether they are made from scratch, a remix or taken from another source.

  6. AI voice acting using real people's voices is NOT PERMITTED.

  7. AI for textures can be used, as long as the software is credited and mentioned.

  8. Entries must not contain malicious content, illegal content, etc.

  9. Comments must be turned on. That way, if an entry has not followed the rules, there will be someone who can point that up for a quick revision.

  10. All projects need to be 100% free. Commercial usage is not allowed for the POSTAL IP without permission.

  11. Each project must include a showcase trailer. Your game jam trailer is going to be the first thing people see about your entry, so it needs to show off as much as you can from 30 seconds up to 1:30m.

  12. All entries must be in english.

  13. Any lack of basic decorum from the participants can lead to the exclusion of the project from voting  (example: disrespecting other participants, audiences & viewers).

  14. Any projects done for the previous POSTAL Jam events cannot be resubmitted unless they are heavily changed up in every way possible (this includes but not limited to: music, 3D assets, 2D assets, writing, theme, gameplay mechanics and level design).

  15. The games should be as politically neutral as possible (no left or right leaning political agendas).

  16. Any entry that doesn't follow at least one rule mentioned above will be excluded from judges' vote.
