This jam is now over. It ran from 2024-10-30 04:00:00 to 2024-11-16 05:00:00.
Welcome to PRY DEV GAME JAM 2024, where developers from around the world come together to create exciting and innovative web-based games! This year's theme is all about Two Player Games, so gather your friends and get ready to dive into games that bring people together.
PRY GAME JAM is an annual game development event where participants have a limited time to create games centered around a specific theme. This year, we’re focusing on games that can be played by two people simultaneously—either cooperatively or competitively. It’s all about crafting experiences that are fun and engaging for pairs! The coolest part of the PRY GAME JAM is that any complete game that abides by the rules of this game jam will have the opportunity to be placed on the PRY game website, with the top three spots receiving a special feature for the world to enjoy!
The goal of this year's jam is to build games that bring players together. Your game can be anything that supports two players at the same time—think classic board games, cooperative puzzle-solving, competitive sports games, or even unique interactive experiences. The main requirement is that your game must be designed for two players to enjoy together. Get creative with mechanics, player interactions, and how the two players can affect each other's experience!
Games will be judged on the following:
All participants will receive a digital certificate for joining and contributing to the jam. Along with this, every complete game that adheres to the rules of the game jam will have the opportunity to be featured on PRY games' upcoming website for the world to enjoy, with the top three spots having a front-page feature!
1. Does my game have to be featured on PRY if I participate in the game jam?
No, participation in the PRY GAME JAM does not mean your game has to be featured on PRY. We will only feature games on PRY with the consent of the creator. Additionally, all games that are featured on PRY are still the property of their creators, and they can request to have their game removed at any time.
2. Can I use pre-made assets or code in my game?
Yes, you can use open-source assets or code as long as you have the right to use them and give proper credit to the original creators. However, the core game mechanics and design should be created during the game jam period.
3. How many people can be on a team?
You can work solo or form a team of up to 4 people.
4. Are there any restrictions on the type of game I can make?
The main requirement is that the game should fit the theme of "Two Player Games," meaning it should support two players playing simultaneously. The game’s genre is up to you—whether it's a competitive battle, a cooperative puzzle, or something completely unique.
5. How can I get involved if I’m not a developer?
You can still participate as a playtester, artist, musician, or sound designer!
