A game jam for PSII Students

Make a game, play some games, rate some games!

Overview

Participants in the PSII Jam will have from February 7th-28th to build their games. Judging will take place from February 28th-March 7th. 

THEME: SPACE

Interpretations of theme:

Outspace | The space your in (environment) | The Spacebar on a keyboard | Being in a crowd vs open space | Relationships “I need some space” | Negative Space

Rules

• Your game must incorporate the theme.

• Your game must be made during the submission window.

• All assets in your game must be created by you, or properly credited on the jam page (see below for example submission page).

• Don't make any NSFW or offensive/discriminatory games. They will be removed immidiately.

Judging

You determine the Community Choice by voting on games after the jam concludes. Juding will take place between February 28th-March 7th. See below for how to interpret the rating criteria.

During the judging week, we will also have selected PSII staff play all the games and award the gold, silver, and bronze medals . Prize T.B.D.

Judging Criteria

The criteria is as follows:

Gameplay: How does the game play from a technical aspect? How well does it function as a game? 

Art: How does the game look? Is it visually consistent or appealing? 

Sound: How does the music and sound effects fit the game?

Use of Theme: How well was the theme incorporated or explored in the game?

Fun Factor: Was it fun to play? Did you want to keep playing?

X Factor: This is reserved for that extra “Je ne sais quoi”. Was it original? Innovative? Clever? Did it have that something extra that made it special!
