Welcome! The Pygame Community Summer Jam is back! Get ready to show us your pygame skills! This jam is for all members of the pygame community to get together and make, play and rate wonderful games with pygame, whilst having a nice time.
Theme - Does the game fit and/ or take a unique spin on the theme?
Art - Does the game has interesting/ good graphics?
Game Feel - Does the game feel good to play?
Audio - Does the game have good and satisfying audio?
Overall Rating - How much did you enjoy the game overall?
NOTE: At the end of the jam, Itch.io generates a category called "Overall", this category is calculated as an average of all the categories voted on, this is the category that will be used to determine the winner of the jam and not the "Overall Rating" category which is voted on by participants.
Just like the last jam, This jam will have prizes for the jam winners! The prize structure will be as follows:
PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to work in a team for this jam, be aware that only 2 Discord Nitro awards can be given to a team, regardless of size.
The theme is: Dimensions!
All submissions must be created between the start and end of the jam. Games that were started before the start of the jam will not be allowed.
All entrants must primarily use Python and the pygame library to create their submission. Additional libraries, pre-existing generic code/engine (i.e. code that can be used in any game) are allowed, but pygame must still be used to create the core part of the game.
You may use any assets (SFX, music, art, fonts, etc) that you have the legal right to. If you use assets not created during the jam (example: an art pack) you need to clearly state this on your jam page.
Teams of 2+ are allowed for this jam. However no more than 2 Discord Nitro awards will be awarded per team.
A winner of the prize can decide to give it to someone else.
Upon submitting your game you will be required to leave a link to your game's source code as well as the Discord #'s of all team members.
Any conflict will be judged by the jam organisers and any cheating will result in a ban from the server and the upcoming jam. I case of doubt about what is fair and not, you ask the organisers.
