Hello and Welcome,
RebootApalooza – The Game Jam : : Reboot any of the Old games you love!
Huge Thanks! - for dropping by!
We hope you enjoy this game jam experience and get to create awesomely cool Reboots / Prototypes!
This is an event hosted by the International Unity Developers group at Facebook. The event is an initiative of the group, being shared and open to the whole community of game developers out there.
For more official rules, please visit our website: http://Unitydevs.Zone or join our Discord Server
IMPORTANT! - PLEASE READ BELOW!
- Legal:
Unity Technologies and Facebook are not affiliated in any way or by any means to this event.
- Games:
Games need to be developed with Unity Game Development Engine – since it’s an event of our group, and our group is based on the Unity Game Development Engine.
- We’ll have 3 categories running:
A 2D Games Reboot, a 3D Games Reboot and an invitational one, for ‘Already in development’ games. Only the first 2 categories will be judged, to identify ‘winners’ in those categories. The invitational one (the 3rd category), ‘Already in development’ games, will not be judged. They will only get popularity votes in a friendly way, since they will only be here for exposure, while introducing the game developer to the community.
- Game Assets :
You can use any asset that you have at your disposal. However, you will need to have the rights for any copyrighted material which you include in the game.
- Piracy :
No Piracy of any content is allowed! We do not support piracy. You need to use either 100% freely available resources, or things that you have bought and have rights to make use of. We are here to promote that you have fun, and that you are able to realize your game ideas in a relaxed way. We want you to be successful at submitting a working game entry. So in conclusion, if you have the proper rights of usage, then go ahead and post your game.
- No Prizes, it's just for fun and recognition :
I don’t foresee that there will be prizes for the event. We will let you know as the event progresses, if this situation changes. We are not making any promises in relation to this. This event is just for fun, and intended to be a networking/learning experience.
Finally (but not less important):
The aim of this game jam is to have fun, learn, and network with other devs!
For those of you that will be using our special invitational category of ‘Already in development’ games – I do really hope that you get the audience and exposition. Of course, this will depend on how much the event gets shared around by the indie-friendly media. So, if you guys do have a channel, podcast or social media place, we do humbly encourage you, to give a shout-out about it. I honestly hope the event be of help for you all!
