I've (affectionately) dubbed this game as a "white culture" simulator, largely because Caleb Worker has ground down "the essence of the early albums from The Front Bottoms (The Front Bottoms, Talon of the Hawk, and Rose) into its component parts: A lack of connection, a hunger for it, and the existential angst of becoming "adult" in an uncaring world. The game is mechanically simple, with most pivotal moments falling to a coin flip's odds, but really shines in its framing devices. Characters move from vague concepts to real people trying to discover themselves and their place in the world as players frame scenes where they challenge authority, their friends, and themselves - to varying degrees of success.
This is a great game for people who want to play shitty, but redeemable young people while listening to angst-core songs about breakups, abortions, and disaffected youth.
