REGENERATE Game Jam is a 48-hours of reimagining farming in games to focus on regenerative and sustainable practices.
Join the jam to explore and learn from a panel of farmers about Traditional and emerging indigenous Māori food production practices, Organic and Regenerative farming, and help expand the variety of games featuring better farms.
Representation matters; we can't imagine what we cannot see! Regenerate Game Jam Matariki is an opportunity to create fun and visible action towards the regeneration of people, place and planet.
Regenerate game jam is an inclusive game jam. We encourage participants of all experience levels and aim to foster a diverse and inclusive safe space for people to create games. Sign up with a team or alone, and let us know if you want us to team you up! Everyone is welcome.
When? The REGENERATE Game Jam will run from 17th -19th June 2022 NZST.
How? The game jam will run on the REGENERATE Game Jam Discord server.
What? Make a game in 48 hours. To qualify, your game should feature organic or regenerative farming practices.

ABOUT THE EXPERTS:
Teikaroa is a fishing and gardening village of Parihaka, where Tihikura and Aroha grow a Maara kai that extends to the awa and the reef.
Kelly founded Whenua Warrior, which specialises in Mahinga Kai, based on hua parakore principles and mātauranga Māori, With a vision to have an edible organic garden accessible by every New Zealander and a mission to feed community, teach community to feed themselves and empower them to feed each other.
Gretta is responsible for running Hapi, a thriving organic food system that includes a busy cafe, a fledgling maara kai/market garden and artisan fresh organic products currently sold through their webstore & farmers markets as well as catering and pop-up events. Hapi is a strong advocate for clean healthy kai grown by people who care in Hua Parakore production systems.
Philippa's The Good Fale is a multi-disciplinary social impact and innovation house that is behind the Aotearoa Kai Journey - a community grounded and social impact design approach to redesigning the food system.
Yotam is the co-founder of Pakaraka Permaculture, a solar-powered regenerative organic market garden and education centre with a mission to accelerate the transition to a regenerative, organic and just food system.
Shakēd is co-founder of The Basket Hauraki, a community organisation committed to social and environmental justice, that is actively developing kai networks and supporting growers to contribute to Pātaka Kai locations in Hauraki.
