Welcome to the Remake the Classics Game Jam! This jam was created as a way to explore the concepts of existing classic titles, and give developers loose constraints to implement new ideas of their own! What is considered a 'classic' may be different for each person, so feel free to experiment and have fun.
Recreate a classic game! This is a classic exercise when learning new tools, and techniques. What is considered classic is entirely up to you. This can include anything from arcade games, and NES classics, to flash games you remember fondly from years ago. Feel free to add your own original twist to make your game stand out.
Participants to the jam may vote on games that they play. Individuals or teams that submit an entry to the jam can vote on other games submitted to the jam.
Judging will be based on:
- Adherence to the Theme
- Gameplay
- Overall Fun Factor
Voting period will be for 1 week after game submissions close. (Voting ends Aug 1st). This game jam is just for fun. No prizes will be awarded.
- Jam starts July 11th, while the theme is apparent from the title of the jam and the description, please do not start making your game before the start date
- This is a 2 week jam that starts July 11th and runs until July 25th
- You may use any assets you have available to you at the start of the jam, but do not make assets specific to your game idea ahead of the start date
- Participants may work alone or in a group of up to 4
