Rhythm jam 2 coming soon: Rhythm Jam 2 - itch.io

Games. Everybody likes playing games, and you like making them. Music. Everybody likes hearing music for chill, even you. The world of games and music can make people fall into new worlds, feel different sensations, join new adventures... What could happen if we mix the best of those worlds into one? Rhythm games! Here is when this Jam starts: your goal is to make a rhythm game in 10 days! 🎵

Now you have 10 days to make a prototype of a rhythm game.  Like, now. Jam started!

Theme: ☣️ nuclear bombs ☣️ (i had this idea after hearing some of those "megaton kick" songs. Perhaps the energy of the song can be translated to heat and radioactiveness...)

🚀 Rules (jams need they) 🚀

1 - you can use pre made assets, as long as you credit them and be sure you actually can use them

2 - you can publish a game for this jam and other ones, as long as it still a rhythm game. But why would you do that? do you want more challenges for make a yt video?

3 - AI is allowed (the image of this jam was also AI generated lol), but keep in mind that most stuff that showcases games (e.g, steam) dont allow them. Use in your own risk

4 - you can use any game engine you want, just make the game an executable file. Or you can be hardcore and make a game with raw code... 💀

5 - work solo or as a team. Perhaps a team may be better for this kind of game lol. Avoid teams in more than 10 people so solo devs can have more chance. If your team is really big, split it into subteams or... what are you guys doing in a jam? go make a serious game!

6 - JUST. NO. NSFW. If your game is 18+, there are other jams to you...

7 - late submissions (submitting a game after the submittion deadline) is not allowed. Make your game in 10 days (or less)

8 - game dont need to be playable in the web, you can make a downloadable game as well

9 - non-digital games arent allowed. Your game must be playable in PCs, nothing physical

10 - your game can be a mobile game, or a PC game. But real pros would make a game that can be played on both >:)

11 - im starting a channel and if you want, i can record your entries and put videos of It on yt. If you dont want, put in the description of your game (in case you dont put nothing i will only ask you permission)

12 - If you want your submission to be recorded, be sure the songs are copyright free for videos pls. NCS, youtube audio library, or some other popular stuff that i will notice easily how to use the musics :D

13 - you can make your OST for the game, but this can add more scope to your game. You dont want scope creep in a jam lol

14 - alternatively, you can use songs made by other people in the game, but this can also lead to hard copyright issues. You must be sure you can use the songs into the game

⚠️ Warning: the jam and its owner dont track responsability over copyrighted material in the games. The games belong to their authors, and in case of copyright infringment, the owner of the game is the responsable ⚠️

🏅 Voting rules: 🏅

- you will just be able to vote on other games if you submitted one. For prevent those guys that create fake itch.io accounts for supporting more their games (because playing fair is too hard for some people lol)

- there are some criteria:

1 - OST (how good the songs are)

2 - gameplay (how good the gameplay is)

3 - visuals (how good the visuals are)

4 - charts/levels (how good designed the charts or levels are)

5 - innovation (how different from the other rhythm games your one is. Avoid making other tiles hop, phigros or stepmania pls)

6 - theme (how good the game gets on the theme)

7 - overall (how good your game is based on everything)

💰 Prizes? 💰

yeah no. The jam is ranked, so you can have the pleasure to be the number 1. Also, a game jam game is still a game, so there is one more stuff to your portfolio (legends say its good to have one for getting better jobs and earn more $$$)

After the jam ends (after the voting time finish), you will be allowed to make whatever you want with the game, perhaps even finishing it and transforming into a serious project, or just put it into trash. But no editing is allowed between the submission deadline and the end of the jam.

Please be patient, this is my first jam. Over time, if the jam goes cool, i can consider making it again in other themes and rules, and add more support on it, like making a channel for jam or getting sponsors. Also, the goal of jams is to have fun challenges, actually make a game, experience the whole thing and have a small brick to use for your house. This house dont need to be small, some games that started as jam games have more than hundreds of thousands of daily active players! this could be you.
