I created this game specifically for Roads From The Past, choosing a theme tied to my heritage and one that embodies much of my favorite design elements of storytelling.

In what ways does your submission help to celebrate heritage?
I sought to explore elements of classic mythological figures I'd learned about since childhood with real experiences shared by my family.

What challenges did you face- if any - in creating your submission?
The information on these mythological characters is vast and based on tales that are hundreds of years old. It was difficult to remain true to the very basic elements without embellishing too much into their portrayals in popular culture.

What do you hope players will gain from engaging with your submission?
A fresh look at Baba Yaga - the grandmother witch - who is just as likely to amuse herself with your presence as to actually harm you. Though the game pushes a player through confusing narrative elements with simple prompts, I hope I have left enough open-ended possibilities for plenty of interesting storytelling that brings each player their own chance to tell the classic 'lost in the woods' tale.
