Roll Up! is a simple and versatile system for creating tabletop roleplaying games. It can be used for group games or solo games, including games with a GM and those without. The core mechanics can be adapted or modified as needed to create a broad variety of games.
This is a jam to build any kind of tabletop game you like using Roll Up! as the base.
You can read more and download Roll Up! for free here:
https://hlashbrooke.itch.io/roll-up-ttrpg-system.
At the end of this jam, we will be making a pay-what-you-want bundle of all the submissions. If you would like your submission to be included in the bundle, please provide your email address in the submission form so I can coordinate with you to make it happen.
Discuss the system and your work in the jam community forum.
Roll Up! is also available to order as a soft cover booklet at cost price.
This jam is for anyone to create new tabletop roleplaying games or modules using the Roll Up! system.
See the quick start page below for an overview of how the system works.
Any tabletop game, module, or supplement that uses the Roll Up! system as its core mechanics. You can make changes to the rules, adapt them into any setting or game, or use them in any creative way you like.
Check out Rolling Raceway for the first Roll Up! game I published and an example of how the rules can be adapted into a different kind of game. The other jam submissions are also all great examples, so feel free to browse those for inspiration.

You can even copy the text right out of the guide and use it in your own work. Here's something you can use to attribute your work to Roll Up!:

You can also use the compatibility images available on the Roll Up! page.
To help you get started, I have also included links to the Canva templates for the full guide - they are available in the downloads on the guide's Itch page. These are optional to use, and they can help you kick-start your own game, making it easier to get going with the layout.
There is no direct theme for this jam. Instead, you can roll on the Roll Up! Themes table for inspiration:
Of course - I'm not the boss of you! You deserve to build what you want, get paid for what you create, and to share it with any audience you like. Go wild!
If you would like your submission(s) to be included in a pay-what-you-want bundle at the end of the jam, please add your email address to the submission form (there's a field for it in there) so I can get in touch with you to coordinate things.
The bundle will run for 1 month and will allow anyone to download all the included games for free. If people want to add the games to their account (so they can download them later and receive ongoing updates), they will need to pay US$1 or more.
All revenue from the bundle will be split equally amongst the participants, regardless of how many games you have included in it. In my experience, these kinds of bundles generate a reasonable amount of revenue, and they get your work into far more hands than you would usually have access to. If you don't want to be included in it, just don't add your email address to the submission form.
Here are a few free resources to help you build and publish a game or module:
If you have or know of additional resources that might be useful, please share them in the jam community forum, and I'll add them to this list.
If you would like to use the same fonts from the Roll Up! guide in your project, the header font is More Sugar, and the body font is Artegra Slab Condensed. Some good alternatives for these in Google Fonts that look very similar are Gloria Hallelujah for the header and Roboto Slab for the body.
