Really amazing game! I can't believe this hasn't gotten more attention. Simple, easy to understand mechanics implemented well. And the music is just spectacular! I also love the individual leaderboards for each level. A lot of games like this just count your time for beating the entire game, but I like this better. I like that, if I wanted, I could get really good at one level and beat the top score on it.

My only slight complaint is the UI. Don't get me wrong, there are no bugs, but the default unity UI elements bugs me. Although that's probably just me.

Also, maybe you could check out/rate my game? :)

Really loved your game, simple but fun. Smooth, no bugs, really clear hazards and graphics, great sounds/music. Good job, I think adding some kind of different abilities or characters other than the magnetic ball will be great!

Hi! I just tried your game. I managed to beat all the levels and also got first on the leaderboard for a few of them. Really nice game. Below some further comments:

  • I liked the idea of having two characters that work slightly differently. It has been used in many other games also but that must be because it works so well as a mechanic. There were several different situation with the magnetism introduced in the game. My favorite one was that the magnetic character could  lift the magnetic character with magnetism. It was also good that the non-magnetic character was "better" in some of the levels too so it wasn't obvious that each level should be started by controlling the magnetic one. Still the capabilities of the non-magnetic character could have further explored in more levels. In what kind of situations being  magnetic could be disadvantageous? Or could the other character have some other special power (although that might direct the game a bit away from the theme)?
  • Visuals were mostly sufficient. I don't personally need super fancy graphics to enjoy a game if it is otherwise interesting or fun to play (and this was). Still there is some things that I would suggest improving with the visuals: 1) I would like to see which character I'm controlling. You could consider for example changing the color of the currently controlled character. Now I was sometimes confused with the character controlling.
    2) The square/round distinction was introduces clearly but it was still sometimes difficult to remember which character had the special ability. It would help if there would be some visual indicators for this. For example, having the magnetic character have an image of a magnet on its body for example. Or even having the character color to be similar than the magnets which would make it easy to remember that they can interact.
    3) Inactive magnets sometimes blend in with the background I would have liked them to be more apparent. That could also be easily fixed by having a color that is more distinct from the basic gray palette you are using.
  • Leaderboards based on time and not score was interesting twist and worked well in this game. In many levels there was multiple ways to solve the puzzle and some of them were quicker than others. It was fun to try to figure out the quickest ways. I would have liked to have a total time calculated at the end (sum of all the best times) and have a leaderboard for that too. I think it would motivate the players more to try to replay the levels if there would be one main leaderboard instead of multiple of them. (I also like the single level leaderboards so don't remove them. But you could consider adding one more)
  • The controls were bit difficult. Especially shifting character with F while controlling the movement with WASD felt really awkward. Maybe you could use right mouse button for character switch as you are anyway using the mouse. Then I could keep my left hand on WASD keys all the time and my right hand on the mouse (controlling magnets and character switch). Especially because this is a speedrunning game having the controls to feel comfortable to the players is really important!

Hopefully my feedback is somehow useful for you! If you have time, I would like to hear what you think of my submission for the jam.
