Impressed by the swarm behavior, remindeds me a lot of Galaga. The part where it sends you back is pretty cool too. A neat little reflection on the theme. I think it could use some tuning as my fingers were getting pretty tired of clicking, but that may just be my hands... Also I assume there is a rapid fire powerup I just didn't get one in my run. Thanks for sharing! Oh and sweet graphics / parallax effect.

Pros: This is a really cool idea and it has been executed somewhat well. With some more work, I could see this being a commercial Indie game. It's pretty fun and the graphics and sound is decent.

Cons: The lasers are far too tiny. You either need to increase their size or make them glow or something similar so they're more visible. I hardly knew what I was getting hit by half the time and it was very frustrating and put a damper on the fun a bit. It could also do with a bit more personality. As you said yourself, it's "Yet another side scroll space shooter" so the aesthetics aren't too great.
