Theme:
Theme is containment breach. Your SCP is involved in a containment breach. You'll have to choose based on your SCP one of the scenarios. The scenarios are available in the community tab. Good luck everybody!
Rules:
1. Start a fresh game and do it within the time frame, you're not allowed to use a pre-made project.
2. Potentially unsafe or offensive content must be labeled as such, offensive language, nudity, gore, etc.
3. Create your own SCP. ( for reference: http://www.scpwiki.com/how-to-write-an-scp or http://www.scpwiki.com/contribute )
4. Any third party asset must be included in Credit option in-game or in project description.
5. Gameplay duration max. 30min of gameplay.
6. The winner will not receive a prize, why not ay ( mostly due to the lack of budget on my end).
Rating:
The games will be rated in 7 categories: SCP Originality, Game Design, Fun, Innovation, Theme, Graphics and Audio. Try to be creative and stick to the theme though!
A few extra notes:
- Entries which break these rules or have no clear relation to the Requirement (focus/theme) will be removed without notification.
- I have attached another reference on how to write a SCP
FAQ
Q: Can I use or refer or feature a existent SCP?
A: No, you cannot use a existent SCP, you can drop name a existent SCP. You can use a existent site or create a new site
Q: I'm awful at music/art. How could I ever make a game?
A: Our jams allow external assets credited appropriately. We insist you credit everything, even Creative Commons Zero or Public Domain. If you use external assets without credit, your game will be removed from the jam. You can find many free assets on Open Game Art and itch.io. Remember to give credit to the creator of any assets used.
Q: I don't know how to program. Can I still make games?
A: Absolutely! Many systems require minimal programming. The best way to learn is to get your feet wet, and a game jam is a wonderful no-risk way to try out new tech. There are many tutorials for the game engine of your liking on YouTube.
Q: Should I build for Windows/Mac/Linux/web?
A: Yes!
Q: How about Xbox or Playstation?
A: We don't recommend for platforms like Playstation or Xbox, you can build the game, but keep in mind that it will be hard to evaluate due to hardware. ( some people may not have consoles )
Q: I didn't finish. Should I submit?
A: Yes! Game jams are about creating prototypes. A finished game takes years.
Q: Can I make a multiplayer game?
A: No. We only want to focus on campaign.
Q: Can I make a 2D/2.5D/3D game?
A: Yes, Sky is the limit! There are no graphical limitations to this jam.
Q: Where can I ask more questions?
A: Ask in the community for this jam.
