  • This is a good idea, but I don't get what the game is about. There is an annoying bug also, when the player gets to the edge of the screen and the airplane warning comes up, it's impossible to destroy it, because it spawns into the player and makes me take damage.
  • I like the sun, but is it just me or the moon is kinda T H I C K
  • This was a very cute game with good spritework, I can see some natural talent for pixel art here. There are a couple issues aesthetically, however. For one, I don't like the use of the vector art for the human sprites walking below. Not only was it clunky looking, but it obviously doesn't match the pixel art style. If designing a low pixel-res human is difficult, don't be afraid to use free assets and give credit. It's better to use someone elses work (with credit) than to let the aesthetics suffer. The moon also tended to blend with the buildings, some hue change or outlining could help that a lot. Lastly (and this one is trivial), I do think you should switch the only rectangular windows on the buildings, the circular ones don't look right (kind looks like a lego brick). Other than that, though, the style was great and the presentation was well executed. I especially love the sprites for the moon and sun, they both contain quite a lot of personality in just the artwork alone, which is always a hard thing to execute. The fields, stars, and overall environment design was great too. Also, while the circular windows are a bit uncanny, I did appreciate the variation in buildings. Overall, this is a pretty aesthetically pleasing game. The mechanics felt surprisingly polished for how simple they are. The moon and sun feel responsive when stopping, and I never felt that the game didn't register a click or anything like that. Completely smooth experience mechanically, at least for me. While the mechanics are very simple, they remind me of fun flash games I played as a kid, and for that, I really enjoyed them. I do wish there were more levels, and I really think the difficulty curve should be stretched out among them. Level 3 especially felt like a massive spike in difficulty compared to the previous. The usage of planes, clouds, and fireworks as different obstacles with different behaviors was also well executed, and I would love to see what other ways you could endanger our lunar and solar companions in a future version. Overall, I really liked this project. It has a couple rough edges but the polish, charm, and passion all shine through for a very enjoyable experience. I'd rate this a 7.5/10. An update in the few aesthetic components that are lacking, as well as some more levels, and an adjusted difficulty curve could easily bring this to an 8 for me. :) If you haven't tried this entry yet, play it! It's a fun and nostalgic experience.
