  • This game has notably some new improvements than the first game. The lag has been significantly reduced, and it is more playable now so that's a good thing. There's a nice presentation just like the first game. I also noticed that the PFP of Turquioii has a little cap at the bottom left, which tells me that it's taken from a screenshot of Discord or something, lol. The music is not as energetic as before, though. The first time when booting the game, it has nice music from the NES, even though it's a bit low-quality. But then the in-game music is just straight up from Cuphead, lmao. Now that the game is more playable thanks to the fixed optimization, I get to play it smoothly. Well, kind of. There's still a couple of flaws that takes away the enjoyment. First off, when starting a wave, you have to hold space to dash. The issue here is that, it's quite buggy, and even if the player isn't dashing at all, I was not able to dash again for a certain amount of time. The thing is that you have to wait until the main cube character shrinks back to his normal size until you can dash again. Sometimes he just gets stuck with his dashed sized or turned degree, and I can't dash while he's in this state, and this can cause a certain amount of frustration. Another issue with the game was the camera system. Sometimes the zooming janks in and out a few times, and it also sometimes zooms in SO MUCH that the main character went completely off screen, and the screen is filled with enemies. And one last thing I want to mention is that the game also doubles the enemy spawn after finishing a stable wave, and it could cause the lag, still. Finally, my biggest complaint is that the main character is a freaking cube with simply 2 dots and a line for a face, which is the most overrated shape a lot of creators use with Scratch. And the other enemies uses the same simple designs as well. So...there isn't a lot of detail here. I'm not shaming or hating on the game or anything, but this game is a nice one overall, though it's not the best. I also discovered that this is a joke game and the original creator wanted you to reduce effort and don't want you to make the sequel look better than the first. And speaking of sequel, this doesn't feel like a sequel at all. It feels more like a fan remix, especially due to the fact that most of the content here are taken directly from the first game; there's barely any changes. On the other hand, the game is somewhat fun to play, though it can get boring after a while. So, in conclusion... - Try to optimize the enemy spawn. - Reduce the camera zooming or just ditch it entirely. In my opinion, Hot Take doesn't need the camera zooming. It would look just fine without it. - Renovate the dashing ability; make it more available to use after the dash finishes. - Use different music other than Cuphead; it doesn't fit to the game's main theme. My rating: 6.3/10. Best regards, 𝓟𝓪𝓹𝓲𝓬𝓱𝓲05

the game seems pretty cool, but performance issues and the sudden difficulty make it hard to play. now, i do think it would be a fun game if it was a bit more playable, so you should try and update it. good luck!

Meh, pretty good game. Really laggy, does not feel good to play (because arrow keys suck) and I don't really see the theme.
