I see what you were going for. At first, I wondered, 'Why can't I kill the donkeys?' but then I realized I could go to the world map, which clarified some things. The art style feels inconsistent—it could work if done with artistic intention, but here, the execution falls short. In my opinion, it's better to stick with either simple shapes and primitives or a cohesive style, rather than a mix of mismatched drawings. That said, the overall concept is intriguing. It definitely needed more time for polish, but that's to be expected with most game jam entries.

Cute little game all! Music was a highlight, and the pixel art was great!

Some things that I found during my playthrough:

  • Some noticeable slowdown during transition to the larger town map.
  • This slowdown when combined with sprinting would occasionally let me clip through the house walls.
  • While sprinting, blood splatters would occasionally not appear on kill.
  • While sprinting, meat would occasionally not drop on kill.
  • While sprinting, meat would sometimes end up too far past a house wall, making it impossible to pick up.

For what it is, this is a neat little project with a fun concept and the devs should be proud of what they put out in such a short amount of time, Truly well done all!
