This is a darkly satirical game! Without spoiling too much, the game works well at exploring the ethics of consumption and the banality of employed life. I do love the increasing deterioration of the player character. The futility of breaking even with the stacked game mechanics add a good bit of humour at the player's expense. The weird and wonderful assortments of food the player is tasked with tasting is also fun, as well as the flavour text that kicks off every day and signifies the player's downfall as well.

As far as feedback for the game, I think this gets the message it needs to across very well. I was still a little disappointed by the abrupt ending, and I feel it would have been a lot of fun to explore the twisted implications of the path the player is going down even more. Nevertheless, it's a fun game!

Thanks for submitting Barry's Food Approval to the SCREAM LITE jam!

Hi, this is one of our first games!
We ran a little close to the dead line and messed up a bit with the balance and rent payment button. You can pay rent even if you don't have enough money! Feel free to use this glitch (feature?) to progress through the game and see all the art we worked hard on.
