I love it. Really good gameplay loop, feature set and overall game design. Great style and aesthetic, and genuinely fun to play. With a bit of polish and some of the additional features from your documentation, this could easily be releasable.
The onboarding is a little confusing - initially it's not very clear what to do, and the "F1 Controls" is easy to miss tucked up in the corner. Additionally, the game continues in the background while viewing the controls. As you've noted in your documentation, adding in a brief tutorial screen for the spell types and potion creation would solve this.
Overall, an excellent project & I hope to see more of it!
Minor glitch: Time elapsed showed as 1:60 at end of game, good presentation, would have been good to include the game instructions in either the documentation or with the game build (or in-game). Great presentation - good hit feedback - perhaps would've benefited from a scoring system to judge yourself against others. Nice work.

Great work. Love the document and the creativity. I like the different animations for side stepping, walking backwards, gives it a touch of polish. Diagonal walking can look a little strange. Just a thought but have you tried to prototype different movement ideas? Such as holding W makes you walk towards your mouse cursor so you can control the direction with the mouse. Currently W always moves you up the screen.
Good job, cheers.
Hi! Thank you very much for the feedback! I had not considered trying out different ways to implement movement to be honest, but that's a great idea. I do agree that diagonal walking can look a bit off. After the jam judging is over, I'd love to find some time to update the game, and the movement is something I'd definitely take a second look at.
Hey! Congratulations on your entry, I really like the dynamic between the different elements and the enemy colors. Also your documentation looks very academic and your automation process is very thorough :) Good luck from Abertay as well!
Hello! Thank you very much for taking a look at my game and for your feedback. For my documentation I used the same LaTeX template that I use for my university assignment reports, which is why it looks so academic.
I've taken a look at your entry as well and I loved the arcade like vibe it has going on! Best of luck to you as well :)
