Theme: 

Sentient Strife: 

In this game jam theme, participants are challenged to create a single level boss battle that revolve around the concept of emotional conflict, where the antagonist could be either an advanced AI entity or human characters. The core idea remains the same: players confront an emotionally driven adversary. However, the twist here is that developers have the freedom to decide whether the antagonist is an AI entity with sophisticated responses, or a human character driven by their own emotions and motivations. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

  1. The event is open to all. Students studying at any college/university are eligible. 
  2. The team participants should be aged 14 or above.  
  3. Any sign of plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification from the event.

Game Jam Rules and Guidelines:

    1. Participants:
  • The event is open to all students from any college or university.
  • No limit on the number of teams per college.
  • Team size can range from 1 to 4 members. 
    2. Game Jam Format:
  • The competition consists of two rounds: Online (Round 1)& Offline Finale (Round 2).
  • Round 1 of the Game Jam will be hosted on itch.io.
  • You will receive the link to access the Game Jam through the email address you provided during registration.
  • The top 3 shortlisted teams from Round 1 will be invited for Finals at IIIT Nagpur Campus. 
  • Round 1 carries a weightage of 60% in the overall scoring.
  • Round 2 (Finale) contributes 40% to the final score.
    3. Game Parameters:
  • The game should consist of a single level. 
  • Teams can use any game engine as long as it meets the following requirements. 
  • The game can be played by a wide variety of audiences without installing any kind of software other than the game itself. 
  • The game must be published and submitted through itch.io page and must comply with the submission criteria below. 
  • The game can be distributed to the audience without violating any licensing or Terms and conditions of the game engine or the assets used. 
  • The game must not be a copy of any existing game, it should be unique. 
    4. Judge's Decisions:
  • Decisions of the judges and organizers are final and binding.
  • Usage of Copyrighted assets and content will lead to disqualification
    5. Asset Usage:
  • Participants are allowed to use individual assets.
  • Usage of full scenes or pre-made game prefabs is not allowed.

    6. Finals (at IIITN Campus) 
  • The candidates will be given a time of 10 hours to work and perform required modifications on their game. 
  • Number of participating finalists: 4 teams  
  • All the finalist teams have to reach the IIITN Campus for this event on or before 13th October 2023. 
  • NOTE: All the participants are required to bring their own laptop/setup for the final round.

Judgment Parameters(Round 1): 

  • Games will be evaluated based on the following parameters: 
  • Adherence to the theme of the competition. 
  • Quality of gameplay mechanics and strategic elements. 
  • Effectiveness of narrative and storytelling. 
  • Demonstrated innovation and creativity in the game concept. 
  • Visual aesthetics and overall design quality. 
  • Enjoyment factor for players.  

The candidates will be informed of the result through the official Tantra Fiesta/Dimensions mail on their registered e-mail

Judgment Parameters(Finals): 

  • Games will be evaluated based on the following parameters: 
  • Are players presented with new challenges or interactions as a result of modification? 
  • Do the modifications enhance the overall gameplay experience and align with the theme? 
  • Do the changes contribute to a more compelling narrative? 
  • Do the modifications integrate well with the existing elements of the game? 


Submission Process: 

  • The first submission stage is online, where participants publish their game on the itch.io page. 
  • Games must be submitted within the event's designated duration. 
  • Participation in the offline round is mandatory to be eligible for prizes. 

Submission Format: 

  • The submitted game must be set as free so the judges can play and judge the game. 
  • The entry will be considered invalid if the participant has not registered in unstop. 

Game Overview: 

Provide a concise and engaging overview of your game, including its title, genre, and a brief description of the gameplay.

Game Art and Graphics: 

  • Include screenshots, concept art, or gameplay videos to showcase the visual aspects of your game. 
  • Highlight any distinctive art style or design elements. 

Story and Narrative (if applicable): 

  • If your game has a storyline or narrative, provide a brief synopsis. 
  • Describe how the story enhances the gameplay experience. 

Controls and User Interface: 

  • Explain the control scheme for your game. 
  • Showcase the user interface and any innovative or user-friendly design elements. 

Technical Details: 

  • Provide technical information about the game engine, tools, and technologies used in development. 
  • Mention any performance optimizations and stability measures.
