[By popular request, the deadline for this jam has been moved back a week to 8/12/19. Late submissions will also be accepted; just contact me.]

The goal of Sequel Jam is to make a sequel to a game that doesn’t exist, be it in the form of a supplement, a bestiary, new classes or mechanics, or even an entirely new game! The content doesn’t have to stand on its own (especially if it’s an add-on), but it must be evocative of what the “original game” was and is in an imagined world where it exists.

This is a casual, unranked jam; it's not a competition!

RULES:

  • The game you make must be analog— tabletop, card-based, story games or however else you understand "analog", but absolutely no digital games (i.e. games you play with a computer and a controller).
  • The game can be of any length and size, it just has to be playable.
  • Include a suggested price; you deserve to be paid for your work!
  • Absolutely no bigotry of any kind (homophobia, racism, transphobia, sexism, etc.) is allowed.
  • Be a nice person, and help your fellow jammers with ideas if they need it and you have the energy and time to help. Reach out to your fellow jammers in the Twitter hashtag #sequeljam.
  • Have fun!

The idea for this jam came from a thread on Twitter by myself where I “invented” itch.io game jam ideas that were so archetypically itch.io game jams that it was surprising they hadn’t been done yet.
